The Department of Radiology at Temple University is a busy clinical and educational operation. In addition, research projects flourish in a number of areas.


The clinical practice is based in Temple University Hospital (TUH) and the Boyer Pavilion, which are immediately adjacent to each other and are connected by a bridge. They are directly across Broad Street from Temple University School of Medicine. The Episcopal Hospital Campus is several blocks away. The clinical service is covered by residents and faculty members and is organized by subspecialty into abdominal imaging, mammography, neuroradiology, interventional neuroradiology, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, musculoskeletal radiology, general radiology, and chest and cardiac imaging. Approximately 300,000 exams per year are performed.


The Radiology Residency Program has six residents per year for a total of 24 residents. Fellowships offered are neuroradiology and musculoskeletal radiology.  In addition, 12 to 15 medical students are assigned to radiology rotations each month. The clinical rotations are bolstered by two daily lectures.


Clinical research in all subspecialties is well represented and numerous protocols are underway. Collaborations with other departments are typical and include both clinical and basic science departments. Currently, ongoing research is supported in magnetic resonance, brain physiology, nuclear medicine, molecular imaging, and in mechanisms underlying millimeter wave theory.


The Department of Radiology offers strong clinical services, an excellent training environment, and fertile research opportunities.
