OFFICAL UNIVERSITY REGISTRATION DEADLINES

You can find the appropriate registration deadlines for the all semesters in which you would like to enroll in coursework at Temple University at Temple Registrar.

Pay close attention to your official student status with Temple University as either “Continuing Matriculated Students” or “Non-matriculated Students.”

NOTE: Only students who have officially applied and been accepted into Temple University can hold “Continuing Matriculated Status.”

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Practicing physical therapists are invited to join us to earn a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree by using distance-based education.  All course activities take place without travel to Philadelphia and course content has been developed in a way so that it can be immediately applied to clinical practice.

Eligibility requirements include that you must have graduated from a Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited Physical Therapy program and are currently licensed to practice as a physical therapist in the United States.  The program has been designed to respect the energy and commitment you have brought to your career and help you continue to improve your patient care and professional growth by adding to your knowledge base.  Upon completion of the program, graduates can expect to attain mastery of the new materials and requirements that have been added to today’s entry-level DPT curriculum.

ALL transition Doctor of Physical Therapy (tDPT) course work will be conducted over the Internet using a simple format that permits students and faculty to share lecture materials and assignments, participate in on-line group discussions, and have opportunity for live interactions.  The only technical requirement for students participating in the program will be a computer with Internet access, a CD player, and Microsoft Office© software.

Students typically report that they budget approximately 5 - 6 hours/week for each 3 credit graduate course with time devoted to reviewing posted materials, completing readings and assignments, and participating in on-line discussions.

Courses will be offered during the Fall, Spring, and Summer summer semesters in order to help busy clinicians plan a sequence of courses that fits within clinical and family obligations.  For many applicants, the tDPT degree can be achieved with the completion of the typical four CORE courses (listed below in BLUE below), each of which are offered during both the fall and spring semesters.
