Physical TherapyINFORMATION FOR ADMITTED STUDENTSOnce an admissions decision for acceptance has been confirmed by the Dean’s Office, you will be listed as a Temple student in our data bases. You will then need to follow the sequence of events listed below in a relatively short duration order to enroll in your first course. To do so, you must first obtain a Temple University e-mail address and activate your Temple University e-mail account by entering information that you have already received (access user name and temporary password). This can be accomplished by clicking on the following link, Temple Accounts. As an alternative, you may contact Temple University, Computer and Information Services directly to activate your account at 1 (215) 204-8000.
Once you have activated your Temple University accounts, then you MUST register for your course or courses of choice. You can register on-line by clicking on the following link, On-line Registration.
Approximately 1 week prior to the start of classes, your course instructor will activate the auto-enrollment feature of the on-line interface that you will use for all of your course work known as Blackboard.
Blackboard is the software used by Temple University to convey course materials to you, host on-line discussions , and permits you to access TU Libraries. You can check to see if you have been enrolled in your course of choice and able to participate in the Blackboard activities by clicking on TU Portal.
You will need to enter your user name and newly acquired password. Once you have entered the TU Portal, you will be directed to a page that has all of the courses in which you are enrolled. Click on the course and follow the directions in the “Announcements” portion of the menu.
IIf desirable, you can participate in a short tutorial on the use of Blackboard at Blackboard Student Guide.
We expect that every student will check his or her Temple University e-mail account at TU Mail uusing your Temple User ID and password. You will also need to open an Ovid account that will enable you to access many health related databases, so that you can search the literature sources from your home computer. You can accomplish this at the following link Ovid Application.
Software: The Temple access software requires Windows 98 or a recent Macintosh system. You will also need a current version of Microsoft Office to open many of the documents we will send to you. We expect that you can open and create Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. Assignment using other software are not accepted. If you do not have at least the Office '97 version, we recommend that you purchase a new version. or call 1 - (215) 204-8000 during the day, Monday through Friday. |
