Doctoral Programs in Psychology

1. Brain and Cognitive Sciences

Temple University's Brain and Cognitive Sciences Program trains students for careers in research and teaching in a variety of academic and applied settings. Faculty members in this area, as well as related faculty within the Psychology Department and adjunct faculty at near-by institutions, are conducting research on a wide range of phenomena. Faculty research interests range from molecular and genetic analysis of behavior analysis of cognitive processes and systems. There are two primary Ph.D. training tracks or specializations. Interested applicants with questions should contact Dr. Ingrid Olson (iolson@temple.edu).

2. Clinical Psychology

The Department of Psychology's Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology is firmly rooted in the scientist-practitioner model of training. In addition to having a strong research training component, our Clinical Area is APA-accredited in Clinical Training.  Clinical students assess and treat patients in our Psychological Services Center under the direction of licensed faculty members. Interested applicants with questions should contact Dr. Robert Fauber (rfauber@temple.edu).

3. Developmental Psychology

Students in the Developmental Psychology Program receive doctoral training in all phases of the life cycle; from infancy through childhood and adolescence to adulthood and aging. Interested applicants with questions should contact Dr. Peter Marshall (peter.marshall@temple.edu).

4. Social Psychology

Interested applicants with questions should contact Dr. Andy Karpinski (andykarp@temple.edu).

Developmental Psychopathology Concentration

The emphasis in Developmental Psychopathology is neither a separate program nor a subdivision of either the clinical or developmental programs, but a recommended set of courses and training experiences that students interested in this specialization are encouraged to follow. Interested applicants with questions should contact Dr. Deborah Drabick (ddrabick@ temple.edu).
