Jennifer Cromley, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in Psychological Studies in Education in the Temple College of Education. Her research concerns the cognitive and motivational foundations of comprehension of textbooks, especially the role of diagrams and other visual representations in science text. She is PI with Nora Newcombe on the NSF-funded project Teaching Effective Use of Diagrammatic Reasoning in Biology and the Temple portion of the IES-funded 21st Century Center for Cognition and Science Instruction. She is also PI on the NSF-funded project A multimethod approach to understanding dropout from STEM gateway courses.
