Graduate Psychology Application Information - Financial Assistance

Applicants accepted for admission are automatically considered for financial support and will be notified by the Department of Psychology of the outcome of this process.

Financial support is available to doctoral students through research or teaching assistantships, fellowships, scholarships, and outside grants. University support ranges up to $20,000 for the academic year, in addition to free tuition. Summer fellowships and assistantships are also available.

Entering assistantships in 2007-2008 paid a basic academic year stipend of $15,122, and this was accompanied by a full tuition scholarship (approximately $15,000) and health insurance coverage. University fellowships are more competitive and carry stipends of $20,000 plus tuition remission, while Presidential Fellowships are $20,000 plus tuition remission. Stipends for assistantships and fellowships usually increase approximately 3% at the beginning of each academic year.
