Lab coordinator / Research assistant position

The Social Cognitive Development Group directed by Dr. Felix Warneken is anticipating to hire a full-time research assistant to coordinate and conduct research on social cognition and prosocial behavior in infants and children. In particular, the position entails subject recruitment and scheduling, testing in the lab and at schools including the use of advanced video technology, and active participation in research. Expected start date is September 2009, and a 2-year-commitment is preferred. Research Analyst II (Lab Manager) Position
For project on helping children learn mathematics

Looking for a full-time (40 hrs a week) Research Analyst II, starting this summer. Two-year commitment required.

Job Summary:
Oversee and help conduct research project on learning mathematics in elementary school.
Primary responsibilities will be data management and coding, data collection (via group administered assessments and one-on-one tutoring sessions with elementary school children), preparation of data collection materials and of materials for publications, and general lab management, including supervision of undergraduate students. This position requires a bachelors degree in Psychology or Education or a related field, at least 2 years of research experience and/or experience working with children in an academic setting, and excellent organizational, interpersonal and computer skills. Previous research experience in tasks such as literature reviews and data coding, and experience teaching or tutoring school-aged children, are highly desirable.

Psychology Research Assistant
Start Date: May/June ‘09

DUTIES:

Responsible for helping coordinate NIMH-funded grants pertaining to interventions for a variety of psychiatric disorders, including depression and substance abuse.  Duties include preparing study material, documenting and reporting adverse events, coordinating study-related IRB paperwork, providing statistical summaries and reports of progress on monitored studies, assisting with participant recruitment, and other research-related duties within the Center. Opportunities for presentation and publication are available.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum qualification for this position is BA or BS from approved University or college, Psychology degree preferred.  Candidates must be able to work independently, deal effectively with professional staff/associates, and be detail-oriented. Candidates are required to be computer literate and have working knowledge of Microsoft word processing and spreadsheet packages. Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, and Publisher as well as SPSS are a plus. Valid driver’s license and car required to visit satellite sites in the Philadelphia area as needed.  Candidates must also be willing to make a 2 year commitment to the position. Open Research Assistant Position

Full-Time Research Assistant
The Child Development Lab

We are seeking a full-time Faculty Research Assistant to work in our dynamic research environment studying longitudinal trajectories of temperament and social learning in multiple samples including infants, children, and adolescents. Responsibilities include recruiting participants, scheduling visits, collecting cognitive, behavioral, and psychophysiological data, supervising undergraduate research assistants, and data management.

Primary qualifications include a strong research background, attention to detail, good organizational skills, and a willingness to adapt to the changing demands of a dynamic research environment. Bachelor degree required. Experience with infants and young children is desirable. Candidates will need a flexible schedule, as some evenings and weekends may be required.
