Thomas E. Shipley Jr. Research Prize Fund

The Thomas E. Shipley Jr. Research Prize Fund is granted annually to a graduate student in psychology to assist with his/her research. Dr. Shipley, for whom the award was named, was a special faculty member in the Clinical Area of the Psychology Department. He was beloved by students and appreciated by faculty for his dedication to social and humanitarian issues. He studied homelessness, poverty, and addiction in times before the significance of the problem was popularly recognized. He was dedicated to his students, and to the notion that scientific study of psychological problems could address important social issues.

This year, Rinad Beidas is the recipient of this honor. Her research proposal is entitled, “Efficacy of Dissemination Training methods: Therapist Variables as Moderators.” Please see photos below of the award ceremony.
