Dear Colleagues:
I have heard from members of the Faculty Senate, collegial assemblies and others that it was time to move from discussion of the general ideas in the White Paper on Restructuring the Provost's Portfolio (December 15, 2011) and to begin discussing specific proposals for restructuring. Attached you will find a Report to the Faculty on Proposals for Restructuring the Provost's Portfolio which outlines the actions already taken as well as summaries of specific actions I am proposing. Faculty in affected schools and colleges are receiving complete proposals. I will meet with the affected schools and colleges and welcome discussion on the specific proposals I am putting forward.
