Message From Temple Rome
JAPAN EMERGENCY FUND REQUEST
Dear Temple Rome Community
Temple University Rome student with poster for Temple Japan Emergency Relief effort on Temple Rome campus.
In light of the devastating events that have been taking place in Japan, theTemple University community would like to help meet the medical, financial and emotional challenges of those affected by the tsunami, the earthquake and the nuclear leakage. Temple University Japan has been directly involved. We want to let the Japanese people know they are not forgotten. President Ann Weaver Hart has appealed to all our campuses around the globe for help and so I am coordinating the emergency fund at Temple University Rome. So far, $6,500 have been raised by Temple students worldwide. There have been candlelight vigils and other fundraising events planned in Philadelphia. This is what we will do at TU Rome:
There is a donation box in the library (on the counter as you enter) for your donations. Donations can start at 1€. What’s important is our collective support, all proceeds go to the Japan Emergency Fund. Student art works will be on sale during our student show on April 14th with all proceeds going to the Japan Emergency Fund. Students enrolled in art classes may donate a work for sale, please see sign-up sheet outside of the Student Affairs Office. At this point we only need names. We will be in touch with those students who sign up to donate a work for sale, to get more information before the Student Show.
Temple Rome students, faculty, and staff, let the Japanese people know that Temple University Rome cares! Please show your support. Faculty, please announce to your classes.
