Arrange for your flight to arrive in Philadelphia during the IELP office hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Take the JFK Express. The JFK Express has a bus service (the bus is blue and white and can be found directly outside the airport) which will take you directly from the airport to Penn Station. The phone number for JFK Airport information is 718-244-4444.
From Penn Station take the train to Philadelphia. Trains run on a regular basis and reservations are not necessary, but to make reservations see the Amtrak site or call 1.800.USA.RAIL. The cost of a train to Philadelphia ranges from $45.00 to $75.00. The train will leave you off at 30th Street Station in Center City Philadelphia.
At 30th Street Station take the next SEPTA commuter train to Temple University. The ticket price is about $5.00. Of course, you could also take a taxi cab for about $15.00.
By train: Take SEPTA Airport Line (R1) to the Temple University stop. The fare is approximately $6.50.
By taxi: The cost from the airport to Temple University Main Campus is at least $30.00 plus tip.
The easiest and smartest thing to do is to take a taxi cab to your destination. Using public transportation in a city you do not know is sometimes confusing, especially while you are carrying luggage with you. The taxi ride should not be much more than $15.00. It is worth the price.
Ask at the ticket counter for a ticket and then take the next SEPTA commuter train to Temple University. The ticket price varies. Of course, you could also take a taxi cab.
