Dual Bachelor’s Master’s Degree Program
Established in 2008, the Dual Bachelor’s Master’s Degree program (DBMD) is an accelerated dual-degree program that allows students from select partner institutions to receive their bachelor’s degrees from their home institution and their master’s degrees from Temple University. The university offers, by way of the DBMD program, an excellent multidisciplinary education to students interested in pursuing graduate study or a professional career in the USA or their home country; an opportunity for living abroad and acquiring cross-cultural understanding; and a chance to improve the multilingual skills necessary to succeed in today’s global economy. This program combines undergraduate study at the student’s home institution with advanced undergraduate and graduate coursework at Temple University, leading to a bachelor’s degree from the home institution and a master’s degree from Temple, within five years. The program was created to meet the needs of high-achieving undergraduate students who wish to accelerate their graduate studies in a 3+2 structure: three years’ undergraduate study in the home country plus two years’ graduate study at Temple University.
DBMD applicants are waived from the GRE requirement, except for applicants to the Fox School of Business and Management, who must present either GRE or GMAT scores. DBMD students are eligible for merit scholarships of up to US$5,000 per academic year. Though part of Temple’s larger international student body, DBMD students benefit from individual attention from both their academic departments and Global Programs officers in the Office of International Affairs.
