Brazil Scientific Mobility Program
Since January 2012, Temple University has been a participating institution in the Brazilian government’s Brazil Scientific MÃ¥obility Program (BSMP) program which provides opportunities for Brazilian university students to study abroad for periods up to one year. The program allows students to study in academic fields related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). BSMP students also have the opportunity to participate in professional internships or higher-level laboratory experiences while in the program. After their experiences studying abroad, BSMP students will return to Brazil to complete their degrees. This program, administered in the United States by the Institute of International Education and Latin American Scholarship Program of American Universities (LASPAU), is part of the Brazilian government's initiative to grant 100,000 scholarships for the best students from Brazil to study abroad at the world’s best universities.
At Temple, BSMP students will be able to participate in academic programs in fields such as Biology, Biomedical and Health Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Community and Regional Planning, Computing and Information Sciences, Engineering and Engineering Technologies, Environmental and Earth Sciences, Film and Media Arts, Geography and Urban Studies, and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The BSMP program provides an excellent educational experience at Temple University to a diverse group of emerging Brazilian student leaders and widens the academic and research exchange between the United States and Brazil.
