In addition to the staff of International Affairs, three university-wide, internationally-focused committees help further Temple University’s efforts to globalize.
International Advisory Council, established in 2010, advises the Office of International Affairs on issues pertaining to global education, study abroad, and global partnerships and programs. A select group of faculty ambassadors, who are experts on certain areas of the world, also counsel the Office of International Affairs. Members are appointed by the Provost and the Senior Vice Provost for the Office of International Affairs for their expertise in international higher education and pre-established connections to senior leadership in foreign institutions.
Faculty Senate Committee for International Programs is a committee composed of 15 faculty members appointed by Temple University’s Faculty Senate. The committee advises the Provost, the Office of International Affairs and the university community on matters of consequence to Temple students studying abroad and international students studying at Temple campuses. In addition, the committee explores opportunities for faculty and students to engage in multidisciplinary scholarly pursuits from a cross-cultural, global perspective and supports efforts to infuse this perspective into Temple’s curriculum.
The Temple International Educators Roundtable, composed of faculty and staff engaged in international education activities, meets monthly during the academic year to share information and best practices related to international education at Temple. Please contact Denise Connerty, Assistant Vice President of Education Abroad and Overseas Campuses, who convenes the Roundtable, if you are engaged in some aspect of international education and would like to join the roundtable.
