Actions relating to Certificates

 

Certificate of Specialized Study or Advanced Study

The process to establish and structure, restructure or terminate these types of certificates will be the same as that for degrees, majors, co-majors, minors, concentrations, or academic tracks, except that they will require the approval of the President, but not of the Board of Trustees.  See section I.B. for approval grid.

These certificates will be noted on the transcript.  Students will also receive a certificate signed by the Dean of the issuing school or college (if an undergraduate or professional program) or the Dean of the Graduate School (if a graduate program). 

 

Documentation of Eligibility for Certification or Licensure

The process to establish and structure, restructure or terminate these types of certificates will be the same as that for degrees, majors, co-majors, minors, concentrations, or academic tracks, except that they will require the approval of the President, but not that of the Board of Trustees.  See section I.B. for approval grid.

These certifications will be noted on the transcript, but the student will not receive a separate certificate. 

 

Certificate of Completion

The process to establish and structure, restructure or terminate these types of certificates will be the same as that for degrees, majors, co-majors, minors, concentrations, or academic tracks, except that they will require the approval of the Provost, but not of the President or the Board of Trustees.  See section I.C. for approval grid.

These students will receive a certificate signed by the Dean of the issuing school or college, but will not receive a transcript notation.
