Computer & Information Services

Computer Services is responsible for providing technology solutions and infrastructure to its students, faculty and staff. It operates and supports Banner, the university's ERP system, Blackboard, email, its web infrastructure, and hundreds of other academic and administrative systems. It also operates and manages an award winning Computer Recycling Center, and the TECH (Teaching, Education, Collaboration and Help) Center, a 75,000-square-ft., state-of-the-art technology facility with resources that cater to current learning styles. Computer Services is also responsible for University-wide technology purchasing and the IT security architecture and provides help desk support. For the university and the Temple University Health System, it manages and monitors a joint data center that warehouses the core IT infrastructure and operates, as an auxiliary enterprise, the high-speed data network and telephone system.

Support Units

Academic Computer Services and Client Services

This office supports and enhances computer and information technologies for instruction, research and training at Temple. It provides technology support services for students, faculty, and staff and is responsible for all Temple University campuses' faculty technology needs, computer lab operations, computer training, the help desk, technical support and desktop/LAN support.

Application Development and Support Services

The Applications Development and Support department develops and maintains internal applications and systems for university offices such as Finance, Human Resources, and Advancement, and operates and supports Banner. It also provides business intelligence reporting.

Infrastructure, Security and Telecommunications

This department oversees the university's information technology operations, security, and telephone and data network.
