Keya Sadeghipour was appointed Acting Dean of the College of Engineering in 1998 and became Dean in 2003, when the College of Engineering separated from the College of Science and Technology. In 2005, while a search for a permanent dean was conducted, he served CST as its Interim Dean until January 2007. 

In 1987 after spending three years in research and the manufacturing industry, he joined Temple as an Assistant Professor and later became an Associate and ultimately full Professor. He became the Chairperson of the Mechanical Engineering Department in 1996. 

His current research interests are in the areas of dental materials (NIH), Bioengineering (various sources), and Intelligent Manufacturing Systems.  He has guided several research and industrial related projects and been involved in receiving over $7M funding from various industry and government sources.  He has also been the principal author of numerous papers in national and international journals and publications. At Temple, he received the Exceptional Research Award. 

National and International Organizations to which he belongs include the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET), for which he is a member and evaluator, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), and the Society of Manufacturing Engineering (SME).  

Dr. Sadeghipour graduated from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), Manchester, England, where he obtained his BSc (Honors, 1979), MSc (1981) and his PhD (1984) in Mechanical Engineering. UMIST is the recipient of the Queen's award in research and the European award in Manufacturing. His specialty was in the area of machine tools and manufacturing.
