John Mattiacci
John A. Mattiacci has been Dean of Temple’s School of Podiatric Medicine since its inception in 1998 when the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine merged with Temple.
He is also Director of the Department of Podiatric Medicine at the Neumann Medical Center, a consultant for the Philadelphia Parking Authority and he was Director of the Podiatric Surgical Residency at Northeastern Hospital. Also, he serves as President of the Physician’s Guild, a group that provides a voice for private practitioners in the current managed-care environment.
On the subject of managed care, Dr. Mattiacci represented the podiatric profession in three meetings held with the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) and in a meeting held with Representative Gephart.
His licenses apply in both Pennsylvania and Florida and he is board certified by the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
His professional interests are in clinical and diabetic education, diabetic foot care and wound care education. He has lectured widely on these and other subjects as an instructor for courses, such as Cadaver Surgery at the Hershey Surgical Seminar, and for professional conferences, such as the Diabetic Seminar at Temple School of Podiatric Medicine in 2000.
Throughout his career, he has won many awards including the Residency Director Award from Neumann Medical Center and the Podiatrist of the Year Award from the Pennsylvania Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Mattiacci earned his undergraduate degree from Temple University in Biology and a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine.
