As Interim Dean of University Libraries, Carol Lang is responsible for Temple University's library system including the seven libraries of the Paley library system, the three Health Sciences libraries and the Law Library.

Previously, Carol Lang, who has been with Temple for 20 years, was Assistant University Librarian for Organizational Development and Planning.

She began her career in librarianship at Temple in the Mathematical Sciences Library before receiving her M.L.I.S from Drexel University in 1991. Her talents were quickly recognized, and she was promoted to the Coordinator of the Science Libraries within the year. In this role Carol Lang gained a broad overview of library leadership and administration; developed user-education initiatives for the sciences; and oversaw the collections, facilities and staff at the four branches that formerly comprised that system.

Before coming to Temple, she worked in libraries at Ohio State University and St. Louis Community College System.
