Student Achievements
Temple's nearly 40,000 students come from Pennsylvania, the United States and around the world—from suburbs, rural communities and cities—to study in 380 degree and certificate programs. Actively engaged in campus and community life, they are living examples of the university's deep and varied intellectual and creative strengths. Temple students represent the top tier of scholars, athletes and artists and are recipients of highly competitive national and international awards, including Fulbright, Udall and Truman Scholarships.
-
Faculty & Research Accomplishments
Each year nationally and internationally recognized professors and scholars join the Temple faculty, including nearly 300 in the last five years. The breadth and scope of faculty expertise generates a well-spring of knowledge that advances health care, promotes environmental sustainability, develops new technologies, informs public policy and enriches our understanding of ancient and modern cultures.
-
Creative Endeavors
A hub of creative energy, Temple is a place where faculty, artists in their respective fields, inspire and foster students' artistic dreams. This rich environment cultivates innovative artwork, original music compositions, experimental dances and dramatic productions that are lauded for their professionalism and that attract audiences from throughout the region.
-
Campus Improvements
Temple is committed to the continual enhancement of its campuses. State-of-the-art classrooms, verdant spaces and creative facilities where students can gather are critical to maintaining and building upon the university's reputation as a premier public research institution.
-
Community Involvement
Temple's faculty, students and staff respect, build upon and enhance the region's distinctive historic, physical, cultural and community assets. In recognition of Temple's outstanding community commitment for the third year in a row, the university was named to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest national recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to service, in 2010.
-
International Reach
With overseas campuses in Rome and Tokyo, a law program in Beijing and more than 120 active partnerships and programs in more than 30 countries, Temple University has a flourishing international presence. Additionally, a general education world society course requirement—along with a strong offering of international electives—ensures that Temple students have a global perspective, regardless of what and where they study.
