| The study of political science is rooted in examining domestic and international affairs as they relate to such issues as public health, the environment, and civil rights as well as government and how societies are structured. Majoring in political science will prepare you for a careers in government, nonprofit organizations, journalism, and many other fields.
The Political Science Department at Temple University provides systematic undergraduate and graduate study of politics in the United States (federal, state, and local), in foreign countries, in the relations between countries, and from a theoretical perspective. The department puts special emphasis on the role of institutions in shaping political behavior as well as on issues of political economy.
