My research interests lie in the diverse area of operational control in nanoscale systems,
including molecular, solid state, and biological systems. Specific topics include:
strong-field control of dynamics and reactivity of large organic molecules; engineering
quasi-particles with unconventional and tunable dispersion laws; field control of electronic
and optoelectronic properties of fullerene nanotubes; spin manipulation in quantum wires and
curved quantum wells; modulation of built-in electron pockets in thin films of wide-band-gap
semiconductors; use of nonlinear phonon channeling to modify and optimize energy transformation
in integrated circuits, optics of blood cells as a basis for non-invasive glucometry, and
development of novel materials for photodetectors and solar cells.
