2 credits: Tuesday 4:40 to 6:30 PM
Room: Annenberg Hall 1 st floor TV studio 2

This course is intended to be a Hands-On Lab course, with mainly in class work. To make the experience a personal one for each student, many classes will feature traditional course work the first half of the class meeting; and assignment work in the studio with the equipment the second half. The B/W lab in the basement -AH 17 - is open until 7 PM for use for those wishing to use B/W, and having the skills for developing and printing.

Assignments will be based on the pace of the course; some equipment is available for out of building check-out.

Grading will be based on satisfactory demonstration to the instructor of mastery of the skills presented in class. Each student is expected to practically demonstrate their knowledge of the material, and lighting components; complete all assignments; and successfully stage the final project. The final project will consist of lighting "something" or some place, and shooting it. Various real world assignments will be considered (much like an assignment from a photo editor). This can be handed in in any format: print/slide/digital.

This class is a lab experience based, hands-on motivated course in lighting and light control; for both in-studio and location photography.
