Julia Arcamone

Music and photography have always gone hand-in-hand for Julia Arcamone, a current third year photojournalism student at Temple University.  Her passion falls between the connection of music, lyrics, and sound with still images, provided by photography, which creates a relationship between the two mediums.  When on assignment, Julia strives to capture images that will connect the viewer, or the audience, on a deeper more individual level.  The power of photography allows Julia to capture the mood of her subject; whether it is within the genre of music or portraiture.  Both mediums require a connection between the photographer and the subject in order to capture emotion and sincerity. Julia feels that she is able to create a close connection with her subjects in order to create an honest photograph.

Slowly, she added locations such as Key West, Pompano Beach, New York City, San Diego, Maui, Tijuana, Nova Scotia, Miami, Tucson, Boston, Washington DC and Oakland to her travels. Wendy is going to travel to Europe in the near future as well, but all she can think about is how many other places she has yet to see. Wendy is currently employed by Ethan Allen Inc.

Amanda Latham

When Amanda was a young girl, her mother used to drag her and her siblings to hot air balloon festivals all across the United States.  And although she hated waking up so early, she loved taking photographs of the balloons in the early morning light.  It started out with just a disposable camera; however, her mother quickly noticed the passion and potential of her daughter, and gave Amanda her first camera when she was eight years old. Fifteen years later, Amanda is still pursuing her passion for photography in the Philadelphia area.  She has continued to study and learn about her art.  Amanda is currently seeking a Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University, and plans to graduate this May.  She has worked with various Philadelphia publications including The Broad Street Community Papers; however, her true desire is portrait photography, especially pet portrait photography.  She loves the challenge of working with animals, and hopes one day to open her own business.

Phoenicia Lewis

As the child of a former photojournalist for a number of New Jersey newspapers, Phoenicia was raised around cameras and quickly took a liking to them. Despite her parents urging to study a science or technology she naturally gravitated back to photography. She will soon graduate from Temple University where she is majoring in History and has two minors in Journalism and French. Phoenicia explains the interconnectedness of the three by saying, “photography is a means to collect history visually, learning languages allows you to communicate with people and learn their history from their perspective and not the perspective of their conquerors.” Her experiences have included work as the photographer for Temple University’s Office of Multicultural Affairs, and as the photographer for a Unity Daycare Center in Lakewood New Jersey. After graduating she hopes to build relationships, which will allow her to learn more languages and take more photographs.

Samantha Munsch

Sammy Munsch is a homegrown girl with an eye for capturing that perfect moment. Her passion for photography started at a young age while her father relentlessly photographed her, but the tables turned once she picked up her first Minolta camera. Starting first with Black and White photography, she found her love and immediately became infatuated with the rich highlights and shadows that were produced in the darkroom. While being involved with photography she also found her love for Sports. Thus creating a photographer that knows just the right movements in the game to snap that moment. Shooting free-lance for The Temple News was what started her journey. This journey was one that took her to Europe where she learned Italian and found her current love of Travel photography. Once an inexperienced traveler she longed to see the lands that she often heard of, now she shows the beauty of other cultures and countries to the people that have not yet seen them.

She plans to document as many cultures and habitats as possible to bring different parts of the globe to people whom otherwise would never be able to see them. She is employed by Full Circle Photography and Design in Philadelphia as an assistant and second-shooter for studio and wedding photography. Her work has been featured at various photo galleries and exhibits throughout the city as well as in National Geographic Magazine.

Neal Santos
My approach to photography is simple: I see, I shoot. I don't think about it too much and I just take pictures. For me, photographs draw meaning from memory and emotion. Photographs have the power to tell their own stories, shaped by the feelings and emotion of the person you are at the time you see it. Photographs are nothing but mere seconds in time, but they last entire lifetimes. I hope that my photography in some way helps you understand, touch, and love the world in a better way.

Dawn Walsh

Dawn believes that photography is a powerful tool, when combined with the mind, the heart and spirit. It has taught her many valuable things about beauty, strength and human nature. It exposes the flaws, brings to light unknown people, places, untold stories. It is her method of immortalizing a millisecond in a world of constant, rapid change. She considers herself to be an observer, a composer - but not a creator. She is interested in mixed media visual art/communication and is combining her photography with audio, video and web/graphic design. Dawn graduates in 2007 with a B.A. in Photojournalism and is an associate of Wonderful Machine Inc. in Conshohocken P.A.
