Smokers

Megan is 21 years old and has been smoking since she was 15. She says that smoking is a very natural thing for her because her family is French and smoking is a normal part of her family's culture. She also smokes because she enjoys it. Abny Santicola

Vicky Wang, a 22-year-old FMA student at Temple, started smoking when she met a German guy this summer and he taught her how to smoke. She continues to smoke because every time she smokes, the fading memory of the sweet summer re-appears into her vision. Kunihiko Miura

Chanky Mak, a 22-year-old computer major, said he started smoking because he "wanted to be a Marlboro man." And now he is addicted. Kunihiko Miura

Alexia Clark, 22, seeking to be a graduate student, says she started smoking because it was there to do and continues as she is addicted. Lisa Naradzay

Roxanne Mayoros, 24, says "I started smoking when I was 17. My friends taught me to inhale and I've smoked ever since. I plan to quit when I find a successful way!" Roxanne Mayoros

John Nonziato, 61, started smoking when he was 15. Considering his age he said "you think I'd be smart enough to stop." All his attempts to quit failed. Roxanne Mayoros
