Spring registration for Fort Washington students begins Monday, December 21, at 11:00 am.  Only continuing QA/RA students can register from Monday, December 21, at 11:00 am, through Monday, January 4, using OWLnetThe QA/RA Office will not process faxed registrations during this period.  The University will be closed starting end of business on Wednesday, December 23, through Sunday, January 3.

Continuing students using OWLnet will have first choice in classes, since they will self-register before anyone else.  If you are a continuing student with any unpaid balances or account holds, you will not be able to use OWLnet.  Make sure you check your password and verify that your account is current before Dec 21.

On Tuesday, January 5, 2010, the QA/RA Office will process fax registrations for new and continuing students in the order that they are received.  The time and date stamped on the fax is the date we will use.  New students may fax registrations now, but the forms will not be processed until January 5th.  The fax number is 267.468.8565.  Remember to include your residency form.

We will continue to make changes to the spring schedule.  If you use Netscape, please make sure you hit “Refresh,” so you always obtain the most current version of the QA/RA schedule.  Use Internet Explorer to avoid this problem. Some on-line Adobe classes will be posted on December 1 with registration opening on December 10. More details will follow. Priority will be given to graduating students for these classes.

Billing Procedures for Spring Classes:

  • Any QA/RA student who registers by January 5 will receive an electronic bill through TUmail on January 5. That bill is due approximately January 17.
  • You may pay your entire bill, or you may pay it in two installments: the entire bill or first installment is due on January 17. (Do not miss the stipulated deadline.)
  • The second portion of your bill will be issued on around Jan 26th and will be due around Feb 10th.   You will be assessed an $11 installment fee for each payment, if you split your tuition into two payments.
  • If you do not pay your bill by the due date, you will be assessed a $50 late payment fee. The QA/RA Office cannot delete this late fee, so please abide by Temple's tuition deadlines.

Bill payments may be made on-line through OWLnet using TUpay, or payments may be mailed to the Ambler Bursar, Temple University Ambler, 580 Meetinghouse Road, Ambler, PA 19002 (include your TUid on your check).

If you register after January 5th, you must pay your entire bill by the designated due date, or you will be assessed a $ 50 late payment fee.  Again, the QA/RA Office cannot delete this fee, so please pay your bill by the deadline.

After January 15, please do not use OWLnet to register, or you will automatically be assessed a $50 late registration fee; please fax your registration to the QA/RA Office, and we will process your registration manually.

Temple University requires all students to have a Temple e-mail (TUmail) address to access OWLnet services, which include registering on-line, dropping courses on-line, paying bills on-line, viewing grades, and printing transcripts.  You may forward TUmail to your work or home e-mail.  The University will MAIL instructions to all new students about creating a TUmail account.  If you have forgotten your TUmail password, call the Computer Services HELP desk at 215.204.8000.

Questions and Answers:

Why is the QA/RA schedule posted in November?
We are coordinating schedules for many sites and faculty members, who need to check their spring travel and work schedules.  Our schedule changes many times over the three months we take to coordinate it.  Since we want to minimize any disruption to your schedule, we post it when classes have been finalized.  Changes to the schedule often occur, so please continue to check the website for the most up-to-date version.

Why does registration start December 21 for the QA/RA program?
We work with the Bursar’s Office to determine the best registration date for QA/RA courses.  We realize that many students are waiting to receive tuition reimbursement from the fall semester, which means submitting their final grade and filing company paperwork first.  By starting registration in late December, many students are able to receive reimbursement from fall, which they can apply towards their spring tuition bill.  Your tuition bills will be due after the holidays, not before.

Is it possible for the QA/RA department to register me in November or early December?
Yes.  Please advise us if you prefer to be registered earlier due to tuition reimbursement policies at your company, or if you are applying for financial aid.  Just be aware that you will receive a bill that will be due in early December that must be paid by the stipulated due date.  If you do not pay your bill, your registration will be cancelled, and when you try to register again, a late payment fee will be automatically imposed.

Will the schedule change?
Yes.  Please check the date the QA/RA schedule at the top of the page, so you can tell whether you are viewing the most current copy.

Should I order my textbooks in advance?
We strongly recommend that students attend their first class and verify the required text with their instructor.  The QA/RA Office is not responsible for any charges (including shipping incurred by the student) iif an instructor switches a textbook or if a course is cancelled due to low enrollment.
