He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine in Slovenia. Completed Research Fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor under Prof. Stevo Julius (cardiovascular epidemiology and hemodynamics of hypertension). After an academic career in Internal Medicine at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia he joined Bristol-Myers Squibb in Munich, Germany as the Medical Director for Central and Eastern Europe. Introduced GCP based clinical trials in the region for BMS, with emphasis on oncology and cardiology.
Later moved to Princeton, New Jersey to lead the regulatory group responsible for regulatory submissions of all BMS products in international markets. Before leaving BMS to start his own company, he was responsible for all Bristol-Myers Squibb regulatory affairs in markets outside of the US and Europe. Currently, he is President, Pharmaceutical Regulatory Services, Inc., offering regulatory and medical consulting services in the field of global drug development, with special emphasis on the emerging markets. He serves as the Consultant to PhRMA on Asia Pacific regulatory issues and represents PhRMA at the IFPMA Asia Regulatory Committee in Geneva. In 2002, the Thai FDA officially nominated him as their Consultant for the ASEAN Harmonization.
