The Senior Assistant Editor for The Merck Manuals at Merck Research Laboratories, Andrew Fletcher received his MA and medical degree at Cambridge University, England, and then earned an MS in Business Policy at Columbia University. After practicing neurosurgery at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, he joined the pharmaceutical industry in 1972 as Medical Advisor to Ciba-Geigy. Teaching for the QA/RA program since 1992, Dr. Fletcher’s pharmaceutical medicine courses approach clinical medicine from a physician’s viewpoint, focusing on cardiovascular, infectious, malignant, psychiatric, and endocrine disorders. While Dr. Fletcher is known for his highly informative lectures, his students appreciate his infectious sense of humor.
