A Professor of Industrial Pharmacy and Biopharmaceutics at Temple’s School of Pharmacy, Reza Fassihi has published over 106 research papers. He received his PhD in 1978 from England’s Brighton University. He was on the faculty of Iran’s Isfahan University and then became a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Brighton’s School of Pharmacy. He was Senior Scientist at the Welsh School of Pharmacy, Cardiff, and Senior Lecturer in the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa. Then he joined the faculty of medicine in Witwatersrand University, Johannesburg, as Professor and Head of the School of Pharmacy. Dr. Fassihi has medals from the South African Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He came to the United States in 1991 as a Visiting Professor at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Dr. Fassihi has pursued joint projects with industry on the development of drug products and is a consultant to generic drug manufacturers. He holds four US patents, and an additional two are pending.
