Craig Hammes is a scientist turned attorney and currently is a principal in a small Regulatory Affairs consulting corporation. He started the consulting business upon retiring in 2000, after a career of forty years in R&D, Regulatory Affairs and law practice in the pharmaceutical and allied industries.
Mr. Hammes started his career in research and worked for a decade in pharmacology and toxicology labs with Smith, Kline & French and Wm.H. Rorer. He started in Regulatory with Johnson & Johnson where he advanced to Vice President of Medical and Regulatory Affairs with one J&J company and Vice President Worldwide Regulatory Affairs with another, retiring from Johnson & Johnson after 25 years.
Mr. Hammes is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the US Supreme Court. He was engaged in law practice in civil litigation (product liability) and business law as General Manager - Counsel for the US division of a small European drug company and Vice President-General Counsel for a US / UK based startup drug/device company.
A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Hammes received a B.S. degree from St. Josephs University and pursued graduate studies in pharmacology at Rutgers School of Pharmacy and Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He received a law degree from Temple University School of Law and is a member if the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
