Jacob Ostrow R.Ph. passed away peacefully in his sleep early Friday morning surrounded by family. Jacob was a staunch supporter and proponent of Philadelphia community pharmacy. He preferred to do anonymously and was a gracious financial supporter of many lawsuits and bills that would have and did benefit the pharmacy community. His legacy lives on at Cambria Pharmacies Inc. which is now in its third generation of Ostrow family ownership. Some of his grandsons even today work for the organization and maybe it will continue to live on for a fourth generation (a true rarity in this day and age). Jacob was 83 and died from the complications of metastatic prostate cancer. Donations can be made in his memory to the Prostate Cancer Foundation www.PCF.org.
