Financial aid is available for qualified students in the form of University Fellowships, teaching assistantships, and research assistantships. In most cases, these support mechanisms provide a monthly stipend, tuition remission, and health insurance. Stipend amounts and the specifics of individual contracts vary. The principal duties of a Teaching Assistant (TA) include assisting faculty members in laboratory instruction, preparing apparatus or materials for Pharm. D. students, conducting recitations, grading quizzes and reports, and proctoring exams.
Research Assistants (RA) are expected to spend their time engaged in research and will be assigned to a specific faculty member. The research subjects are determined by consultation between the student and his/her research advisor. Both TAs and RAs generally receive a stipend and a full-tuition scholarship (up to 9 credits per semester). The Office of Graduate Studies makes offers of assistantships on or before April 1. Final dates for acceptance or decline of the offers is included in the contracts
