Dr Michael S. Wolf, pharmacist, attorney, specialist in forensic
medicine, teacher, and activist, has been selected to be the
2008 Sprowls Lecturer on April 9th at Noon in Room 110. His
topic will be: “Impacting on Our Communities- Pharmacists Making
a Difference”. All alumni are invited to attend.
In addition to a BS in pharmacy, Dr. Wolf holds three doctorate
degrees--a PhD in Pharmaceutics from Temple University, a
doctorate in pharmacy from Broadmore University and a law degree
from Concord Law School.
He is the director of pharmacy operations at Wald Drugs in
Raritan Township and Flemington, NJ, and Director of Forensic
Counseling Services, a consultant firm providing legal personnel
with technical pharmacy input in alcohol and substance
abuse-related cases. His pharmaceutics background has qualified
him as an expert witness for more than 500 cases over the past
20 years.
Dr. Wolf’s health law background enables him to serve as an
expert on the new “Medicare D” program and he volunteers with a
number of senior citizen groups as a consultant for this new and
complicated program. He is also very involved with the Hunterdon
County Medication Access Partnership, a grass roots organization
that partners with faith-based groups to identify people who
fall through the cracks with respect to obtaining medication.
Another one of Dr. Wolf’s passions is working with pharmacy
students. He is a consummate ambassador for education, serves as
a preceptor to pharmacy students and instructor at the School of
Pharmacy in the elective class, Pharmaceutical Care & Ambulatory
Practice.
Michael’s wife, Carol ‘77 is also a Temple School of Pharmacy
grad. They reside in Flemington, New Jersey. They have two
children, Lisa (URI, ’01) and Adam (RPI ’04, M.S., Temple ’06).
When Dr. Wolf is not in the pharmacy, in court, class, or
volunteering in the community, he enjoys relaxing with his
family and playing bass and low brass with a number of local
bands.
