Gallery of Success

Edith A. Rosato, RPh, IOM ’82 and Randall Chapman ’73 are the 2009 Gallery of Success Awardees for the School of Pharmacy.

 
 

Ms. Rosato brings over 30 years of leadership and experience in the pharmaceutical industry to her position as Senior Vice President, Pharmacy Affairs for the National Association of Chain Drug Store (NACDS) and President, NACDS Foundation. As a registered pharmacist, she has a deep commitment to the advancement of community pharmacy and advocates for the important and integral role for pharmacists in the delivery of quality healthcare to patients.

Ms. Rosato leads the Pharmacy Affairs department in addressing the current and future challenges of operational and pharmacy practice issues in order to assist chain member companies to advance the effectiveness and profitability of their business and to deliver the highest quality, cutting edge health care to patients.

Ms. Rosato also leads the activities of the NACDS Foundation, the education, research and charitable affiliate of NACDS. The Foundation provides scholarships for pharmacy students and supports pharmacy education programs that address the needs of community pharmacy practitioners. Through its charitable giving, the Foundation supports community initiatives that can improve the health and welfare of patients. The Foundation also awards grants for research programs that utilize pharmacist’s expertise in medication therapy to improve patient health outcomes.

Ms. Rosato has recently been granted the prestigious U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute of Organizational Management (IOM) certification. The four-year Institute program prepares graduates to lead non-profit organizations and provides the skills to address the unique challenges of managing non-profit organizations.

Prior to joining NACDS in 2000, Ms. Rosato held senior positions at Wyeth-Ayerst Pharmaceuticals in Philadelphia. She was responsible for the development of corporate sales and product distribution strategies as well as customer marketing programs for the managed markets division. Ms. Rosato also served as a corporate pharmaceutical buyer for CVS Pharmacy which is now CVS Caremark in Woonsocket, RI.

Ms. Rosato remains active with many pharmacy schools and sits on the Campbell University School of Pharmacy Board of Advisors and the National Advisory Council at Virginia Commonwealth University, and the Gregory Leadership Council of Palm Beach Atlantic University School of Pharmacy. She is a member of the editorial advisory board for the Pharmacy Times magazine. She has served on the Associate Member Board of Directors for the National Wholesale Druggists’ Association; the National Wholesale Druggists’ Association Healthcare Foundation Board, and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy Leadership Committee on Pharmaceutical Industry Relations. She is a 1982 graduate of Temple University School of Pharmacy and worked as a pharmacist manager for both Thrift Drug and CVS Pharmacy.

Ms. Rosato is married and resides in Virginia. Her interests include boating, gardening, professional development, history and international travel.

 
Randy Chapman is a native of Scranton, PA, where he attended Scranton city schools and graduated from Scranton Central High School in 1968. Graduation from Keystone Junior College followed in 1970. Mr. Chapman became interested in becoming a pharmacist because of his local pharmacist, John Kintzer, Sr., the owner of Jermyn Drug Store in Scranton, PA. He decided to study pharmacy and graduated from Temple University School of Pharmacy in 1973, with membership in the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity.

The first 16 years of his career were spent in community pharmacy before making a career change to work at The Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon, PA. Mr. Chapman has been employed at The Good Samaritan Hospital for 20 years, the last five as the chemotherapy pharmacist.

 

A resident of South Annville Township, Randy was married to Anita for 33 years. He has been an active member of the Annville United Methodist Church, Annville, PA, for over 30 years, where he served as administrative council chairman and trustee.

Mr. Chapman’s community affiliations include serving as a board member for Habitat for Humanity; past president of the PACE Miata Club; and six mission trips including Monterrey, Mexico and Ha Long Bay,Vietnam.

Representing Temple University at the installation of William Durden, president of Dickinson College and John Synadinos, past president of Lebanon Valley College has been the highlight of being a Temple alumnus.

Supporting Temple University in various ways has always been important to Randy and he encourages all alumni to support the university.
