Temple alumnus, Scott Giberson, '93, is now Rear Admiral Giberson and is National HIV/AIDS Principal
Consultant (Agency Lead) and Director (Acting), Division of Clinical and Community Services with the Indian Health Service (IHS).
As a student, he completed a rotation with IHS at Crownpoint, New Mexico, and after graduation, applied to the United States Public Health Service (USPHS). He was stationed in Gallup, NM at an IHS clinic. He received his NCPS-PP (National Clinical Pharmacy Specialist—Pharmacist Practitioner) certification through IHS and was also dually licensed in the state of NM as a Pharmacist Clinician, which afforded him unique roles in patient care.
RADM Giberson graduated Magna Cum Laude from the School of Pharmacy. He received his Masters in Public Health (M.P.H.) from University of Massachusetts in 2006. He also holds a graduate certificate in Health Emergencies in Large Populations—a program designed for international humanitarian relief. He was an instructor for Advanced and Basic Disaster Life Support and is certified as an APhA immunizer and instructor. In 2007, RADM Giberson was selected to attend the eight-day GlaxoSmithKline Executive Management Program for Pharmacy Leaders, a program taught by the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
