Establishment of an Endowment for a Valedictorian Award

10/13/10

Temple University School of Pharmacy Dean Doukas is pleased to announce that Dr. Magid Abou-Gharbia will be establishing the Abou-Gharbia Valedictorian Award, to be recognized at Doctor of Pharmacy graduation ceremonies.

In 1971, upon graduation from the Cairo University School of Pharmacy Dr. Abou-Gharbia was recognized as the Valedictorian of his class, having achieved the highest average at Cairo University as well as of the other two schools of pharmacy in Egypt. He has often stated to me that the award provided both a goal while he was a student, as well as an inspiration for future accomplishments after his graduation. To that end he will establish a similar award for the School of Pharmacy as a means to both kindle and recognize outstanding academic achievement.
