Clinical Educator - Internal Medicine

The Department of Pharmacy Practice is seeking candidates for a position as a clinical educator track faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The level of appointment will be based on individual qualifications and professional goals.


Responsibilities include establishing an innovative clinical practice in an inpatient setting, serving as a preceptor and role model for students on introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences, recitation instruction and participating in team-taught didactic courses. Applicants should have a PharmD degree with postgraduate residency training or equivalent experience. Temple University School of Pharmacy has implemented a dynamic curriculum utilizing a variety of innovative teaching techniques. Faculty members have access to state of the art multi-media systems, and computer technology to assist them in developing novel educational approaches. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a team of creative educators dedicated to providing quality education to their students; pharmacy care to patients; and who are involved in a variety of research projects. The philosophy of the School of Pharmacy is to foster individual growth and to encourage faculty members to dedicate their time and efforts in areas where they will be most productive.


The School's location on a Health Sciences Campus provides abundant opportunities to collaborate with other health professional educators, clinicians and researchers.


Temple University School of Pharmacy is in the midst of unprecedented growth with the goal to significantly enhance its research capabilities. The School houses a Core Facility for Pharmacokinetics and Bioanalysis, the Jayne Haines Center for Pharmacogenomics and Drug Safety, a cGMP facility and the Moulder Center for Drug Discovery Research. Faculty members are engaged in several collaborative research relationships with colleagues in the School of Medicine and Temple University Hospital.

Research Assistant Professor

Temple University School of Pharmacy seeks candidates for a non-tenure track, academic appointment at the rank of Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences whose research focus is cancer nanomedicine. The candidate will be working in collaboration with a principal investigator on a research project related to nanotechnology-based chemo-RNA delivery to prostate cancer and breast cancer. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. Degree in pharmaceutical sciences and demonstrate expertise in physico-chemical and biological characterization, evaluation and development of drug delivery systems of therapeutic siRNA and anticancer drugs. Experience with photon correlation spectroscopy, UV-spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, drug release kinetics studies, epifluorescence microscopy, computational image analysis, immunoblotting studies, cancer cell culture, various in vitro viability and toxicological assays, and animal tumor models would be an important asset. We are seeking an investigator with minimum 2-year post-doctoral experience or equivalent and demonstrated research excellence (a sustained track record of publications and/or research funding). The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to a vigorous preclinical research program. Review of applicants will continue until the position is filled.
