Pharmaceutical Biotechnologist/Immunologist

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Temple University School of Pharmacy (TUSP) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Associate or Full Professor level in the area of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology / Immunology for an individual who has a strong commitment to both research and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an externally-funded research program, participate in both professional (Pharm. D.) and graduate (Ph.D. and M.S.) teaching and service. The candidate will have demonstrated a successful research record in the form of outside funding and / or peer reviewed publications. Some experience with translational research would be an asset. Prior teaching experience and an aptitude for teaching others are desired, as the candidate will contribute to the teaching of Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) and graduate students.


The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences houses the Moulder Center for Drug Discovery Research, the cGMP Facility, and the Jayne Haines Center for Pharmacogenomics and Drug Safety. Temple University has established a university-wide Drug Discovery Research Initiative based at the Moulder Center. The successful candidate will be a member of the Moulder Center and will participate in multidisciplinary research initiatives based at the center. Candidates best suited to advance this university-wide initiative will be given preference.


The position requires excellent organizational and communication skills. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in Biochemistry, Immunology, Chemical Engineering or related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience, and a proven track record of success.  Interdisciplinary appointments and competitive start-up packages are available to qualified applicants.
