Biosketch
Dr. Kenneth Korzekwa received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from New Mexico State University and his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Washington. He received a PRAT Fellowship from the NIH and worked as a Staff Fellow and Senior Staff Fellow in the areas of drug metabolism and enzymology. He joined the University of Pittsburgh as an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and continued his research in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics. Some of the predictive technologies he and his colleague Jeff Jones developed were licensed to Camitro Corporation, a startup company based in California. He joined Camitro Corporation as Vice President of Research. Camitro Corporation was sold, and Dr. Korzekwa moved to the Philadelphia area to work as a Director and Distinguished Senior Investigator in Drug Metabolism. He is currently working in the area human pharmacokinetics prediction and on a new technology platform for multifunctional therapeutics.
Post-doctoral position in drug transporter research
A post-doctoral position is available in the laboratories of Drs. Swati Nagar and Ken Korzekwa at the Temple University School of Pharmacy. We are seeking a motivated candidate with experience in the area of pharmaceutical sciences. This position will require existing or acquired capabilities in pharmacokinetics, modeling and simulation, cell culture, animal models, and analytical skills (LCMSMS). The candidate must be trained in general quantitative skills. The research will focus on impact of drug transporters on intracellular concentrations and overall drug distribution.
