BRUCE MACARTNEY, ‘81
PRESIDENT
Before becoming Vice President,
Bruce held the position of Secretary of the Board. He has been
an active “mover and shaker” of the Association for the past 13
years.
Except for a short time in industry, Bruce has been a retail
pharmacist since graduation. For the past 18 years, he has
worked as a Managing Pharmacist at Banks Apothecary, where he
enjoys the challenge of retail pharmacy and the interaction it
allows for direct patient contact.
He is a specialist in pain management, has served on the
Executive Board of the PA Cancer Pain Initiative, and has helped
publish their quarterly newsletter since 1992.
He has been active in the Boy Scouts for 13 years, served as Cub
Master and is currently Scout Master of Troop 62. He is the
father of three teenage sons and lives in Lansdale. He enjoys
golf, sports and flying remote-control airplanes.
LORETTA BRICKMAN, '63
VICE PRESIDNET
Loretta and her husband owned and operated a community pharmacy
in New Jersey for many years. Loretta is known for her
legislative workon the state and national levels to improve
patient quality of life and healthcare outcomes.Currently, she
is a partner in Bd Consulting and Public Relations.
She and her business partner, Harold Bobrow, created and teach
"Practical Politics and Pharmacy" at Temple School of Pharmacy
which demystifyes the political process.
She is a past member of the New jersey State Board of Pharmacy
and past president of the NJ Pharmacists Association where she
is currently a trustee representing Region 3 of the state.
Loretta currently serves on an immunization team and a
bioterrorism task force. She also does
consulting work for Broadway House for Continuing Care, a
subacute HIV/AIDS Faciltiy in Newark, New Jersey. Loretta is
the past recipient of the Bowl of Hygiea and the Oscar Singer
Award. She and her husband, Stephen have two married sons,
Joseph and Eric.

ERIN BETTINE, '83
SECRETARY
Erin has been serving as Secretary
of the Alumni Board since May, 2004, although she has been
active with the Association since 1998. During her time as
Program Committee Chair, Erin helped the Association to find new
and exciting meeting locations. In addition, she served on the
planning committee for the School of Pharmacy Centennial
Celebration in 2001.
Erin has worked in the pharmaceutical industry since 1985 and
has held various positions in drug development and product
supply. She has spent the last 20 years at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals
and is active in the ISPE and EPICS professional associations.
Erin completed her MBA in International Business in '93 at St.
Joseph's University. She is an avid skier and enjoys traveling.

MELINDA WILLIAMS, ‘89
TREASURER
Melinda Williams has been involved
with the Association since 1999 and has served as Treasurer
since that time.
Since graduation, she has worked in retail pharmacy, holding
positions with Rite Aid and the Veteran’s Hospital’s Outpatient
Pharmacy. Currently she is a staff pharmacist with Express
Scripts.
Melinda follows the sporting world closely and is an avid Eagles
fan. |
