The Moulder Center for Drug Discovery Research and School of Pharmacy have four laboratories with approximately 8,000 square feet and 16 fume hoods dedicated to the synthesis and purification of organic molecules. The chemistry laboratories are designed to handle mg to kg scale small molecule synthesis. Parallel synthesis platforms are also available for the preparation of either diversity driven or focused libraries of 10s to 1000s of compounds on 10 - 100 mg scale. The Moulder center labs and associated facilities are also suitable for large scale synthesis to meet the needs of PK studies, in vivo animal studies, and cGMP production.
In addition to the standard laboratory glassware and equipment (e.g. rotovaps, balances, vacuum pumps, etc.), the Moulder Center labs are equipped with:
Specific Analytical Instrumentation and Equipment Includes:
Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS) Capabilities:
Through collaboration with Sbarro Health Research Organization (SHRO) Moulder center scientists have access to Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS ) which combines state-of-the-art equipment with the latest cutting edge methodology. Comprehensive expertise for peptide synthesis and purification, as well as identification and characterization of proteins from recombinant or biofluidic sources are available. For addition information, please visit the Sbarro Health Research Organization web site (http://www.shro.org/SPPS/).
Screening Capabilities:
MCDDR maintains a 500 square feet facility equipped with tissue and cell culture capabllilles and two PerkinElmer Janus workstations coupled with a state-of-the-art EnVision Multilabel plate reader as well as capabilities to support assay development such as Alpha technology.
