Mission, Vision and Strategic Goals

Mission Statement

The School of Pharmacy at Temple University provides the environment to achieve excellence and opportunity in education, research and practice. It offers a comprehensive array of professional and graduate programs addressing the profession of pharmacy in all of its existing and developing forms. By advancing scientific discovery and preparing its graduates to practice innovative patient care, the School strives to improve the health and well being of the communities it serves.

Vision Statement

In the next decade the School will have established a national presence and reputation for excellence in research, scholarship, education and practice. This will be accomplished by recruiting excellent faculty, securing external support from federal, foundation, and corporate sources, and by the continuous development of excellent academic programs that attract students of the highest quality who graduate to become outstanding practitioners and scientists.

Strategic Goals

  • Recruit and retain the very best faculty in their disciplines.

  • Deliver excellent professional and graduate academic programs.

  • Increase the academic quality of a diverse student body.

  • Provide opportunities for students to differentiate their degrees.

  • Prepare professional students to promote and deliver pharmaceutical care in a variety of evolving health care environments.

  • Contribute to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in the pharmaceutical and clinical sciences, professional practice, and education.

  • National ranking within the top third of all schools of pharmacy with regard to external funding.

  • Faculty and administration will seek development support from extramural sources

Accreditation
Temple University School of Pharmacy is accredited by the
Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), which is sponsored by the American Pharmaceutical Association, the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). The Council advances the standards of pharmaceutical education and maintains a list of accredited colleges of pharmacy. Temple University School of Pharmacy is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, which promotes the interests of pharmaceutical education.
