OTT - Committees

The Office of Technology Transfer benefits from committees formed to provide guidance regarding intellectual property assessments, commercialization programs, and related policies.

Intellectual Property Advisory Committee (IPAC)

IPAC enables the Office of Technology Transfer to effectively utilize the expertise at Temple University to assist with the evaluation of new inventions. This standing committee is comprised of nine members appointed by the Senior Vice President for Research and Strategic Initiatives. IPAC recommends whether OTT should elect to own or waive its rights to intellectual property brought for its review. If IPAC recommends Temple elect ownership to an invention, an appropriate intellectual property protection and commercialization strategy is suggested.

Technology Transfer Industry Advisory Committee (TTIAC)

TTIAC is charged with advising the OTT and OSI on efforts to advance the commercialization of Temple's intellectual property and related startup enterprises. A critical part of the technology transfer process is bridging the various funding and information gaps along the path to market. This diverse advisory team is comprised of seasoned business professionals from the biotech, pharmaceutical, and information technology industries.

Invention and Patent Committee (IPC)

Appointed by Temple University's President, IPC is charged with reviewing intellectual property policy matters including ownership, royalty distribution, and conflicts of interest. Visit Section 6 of Temple's Invention and Patent Policy for further information on the IPC.
