All students, regardless of location, are assessed a University Services Fee based on the number of credits taken. Although online students may not utilize all campus facilities, the University Service Fee defrays the enormous cost of providing computer and distance learning services to all distance learning students. It covers the cost of the following:
* Providing WIMBA access to all online students
* Maintaining Distance Learning Program web sites
* Helping to defray the cost of vieoconferencing
* Providing free TUmail to students
* Providing on-line access to the vast holdings of Temple's library
* Maintaining the TUid system which eliminates the use of social securuty numbers thereby enhancing security agains ID theft
