BTMM333/633: Global Telecommunications
and MMC680: Intermediate Topics MM&C I

Dr. Concetta Stewart
Concetta.Stewart@temple.edu
(215) 204-8421

The objective of this course is to examine global communication systems and their evolution, the controversial issues arising from the flow of communication among nations and cultures, and to explore the--often conflicting--policies that influence international, regional and national communication.

Emphasis will be placed on examining the key parallel trends of the convergence and globalization of communication and information technologies and markets. Students will be given ample opportunity to present their own analysis and evaluation of these trends through a variety of writing assignments.

Please note that:

1) In the Spring semesters, this course is offered only to graduate students and
2) In the Fall semesters, this course is offered only to undergraduated students.

Undergraduate students information:

This is a writing-intensive course that requires the submission of papers and/or
postings for class discussions almost every week. Therefore, in spite of its
schedule flexibility, this course requires as much work and time investment as
a regular face-to-face course. Moreover, since this is a capstone writing
course for communication majors, students must obtain a minimum grade of C- for
this course to count in their records.

Since this course is password protected, please contact Dr. Stewart via e-mail: Concetta.Stewart@temple.edu or by telephone (215) 204-8421 for further instructions.
