Falls are a major health care concern for the individual, family and health care system. This interdisciplinary course for health care professionals will address risk factors for falls. Assessment and health promotion strategies to reduce/prevent falls will be presented. Course outcomes include preparation of fall prevention programs for use in the health care setting of the course participant, and development of screenings and fall prevention talks for older adults residing in the community.
