This on-line course will employ a varied pedagogy in examining the concept of leadership within the context of education. Specific attention will be given to developing and expanding the knowledge base of leadership theories and concepts. Additionally, the application of these concepts and theories to leadership transitions and instructional leadership initiatives will be emphasized.

This course is designed for individuals preparing for careers as educational administrators, elementary and secondary school teachers, and careers in research directed toward the development of positive organizational culture and instructional improvement. This course is a prerequisite for entering the doctoral cohort of the Doctor of Education Program in Educational Leadership at Temple University.
