Welcome
to the web site of the Temple University
Office of International Services. This office
is committed to providing exemplary service
and support Temple University's international
students, scholars and researchers. The
Office of International Services also contributes
to Temple University's intellectual and
cultural diversity through its service to
the international student and scholar community.
To accomplish its mission, the Office of International Services generates all required legal documents required for nonimmigrant students and scholars; provides advisory and counseling services; serves as a liaison to university departments, United States and foreign government agencies and the greater community; facilitates the assimilation of international students and scholars into the larger Temple Community; and contributes to the international community's cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.
Our office is responsible primarily for assisting international students, faculty, and researchers who are engaged in full-time study, teaching, or research at Temple University. This service is based on the requirements of their nonimmigrant visa status, and the subsequent administrative responsibilities assigned to the University by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The office provides advice and assistance regarding government regulations and has been designated the only official University office authorized to issue nonimmigrant visa documents for student, faculty, and exchange-visitor programs. Therefore, all questions concerning nonimmigrant matters should be referred to the Office of International Services.
In addition to these responsibilities, our Office provides a variety of services and programs for international visitors in order to assist them in their educational and professional objectives and to make their visit to this country as pleasant and productive as possible. International student advisors are available to assist with personal or immigration problems involving international students and scholars. The advisors also work very closely with the appropriate offices on campus to coordinate the services available to international scholars and to make proper referrals.
An in-depth orientation
program is offered to all incoming new students,
and every effort is made to provide ongoing
orientation during the course of the academic
year through the assistance of Peer
International Educators , social and
recreational activities, weekend activities,
weekly coffee hours, holiday dinners with
an American family, and occasional Talk
and Taste Programs.
