Nathan Broaddus
A Main native, Nathan Broaddus is new to filmmaking. Unwilled Inheritance: A Portrait of 3 Generations is the culmination of Nathan's undergraduate studies at Hampshire College. While excited about pursuing future independent projects in film and animation, Nathan is also passionate about continuing his documentary photography work in Haiti.
[Director's Statement]
In the end, Unwilled Inheritance: A Portrait of 3 Generations was not only about what I think needed to be said between me and my dad, but also about giving voice to the dialogue my father and grandfather have never had. If it is an emotional film, it is only because it carries more than the weight of my family's silence; it bears the weigh of the nature of fatherhood and the desperate distance every son longs to break through.
