[Director's Statement]
I like to write short stories. Sometimes I cut them as refined as crew-cuts; but most often, I let them grow into mullets. I'm attracted to the sloppiness of stop-frame animation for its impurities and for its rawness. Like spreading frozen butter on a slice of bread, my stories end up choppy and mangled but still edible. I find imperfections to be both beautiful and humorous. They guide my busy little hands and appropriately match the goofy-narrative my films most often take. The most liberating part about stop-frame animation is that it allows me to act through inanimate objects by transforming them into living entities. I enjoy keeping everything hand-crafted because I feel as if it's the most honest interpretation and self-reflexive statement one can have about the world. My ultimate goal is to share a laugh with society by cracking jokes on the anxieties and fears that govern us; I want to tickle you until you pee your pants.
