16 years ago pictures of East and West Germans tearing down the Berlin wall travelled around the world. Representative for a moment, these images capture the sensational face of change.
Yet, away from the dramatic events, how are the changes really experienced by local people? What are the consequences of the changes and the time that went before on everyday life today?
This film gives us a glimpse of a summer in a motorcycle garage for Simson and MZ in Frankfurt (Oder). We come across the view of the several people who meet there and we experience how they are "riding the wind of change".

Saskia Heyden
Saskia Heyden has completed the Master programme in Visual Anthropology at the University of Manchester 2005. Riding the Wind of Change is her graduation film. Now she is involved in the Visual Anthropology project at the Europa-Universität Viadrina and is working on a new film project in Berlin.
